March 10, 2023. The past two HelpCenter sessions we have discovered that Windows 10 or 11 install media will NOT restore or fix a Dell laptop that has an NVME storage device as the only storage on the computer. According to Dell the restoration process requires downloading software from Dell and then creating a bootable thumb drive that contains the appropriate drivers/software. Then, you can boot from the USB on the “broken” computer and do a system restore. Supposedly the NVME drivers are “injected” into the media when before the media is created. So far, no joy. The thumb drive did boot, successfully tested the NVME drive and then claimed it could not find or install an operating system.
