Remote Support

What might you find on this page? You will find information about Remote Support tools. What is a Remote Support Tool? It is software that allows a person at a remote location to “see and control” your computer. “See” means they can see what is on the screen and disk of your computer. “Control” means they can operate your computer from their remote location.

Remote support can be a controversial subject. Why? For years, unscrupulous people have used Remote Support tools to swindle poorly educated computer users. Using remote support tools requires the client/customer, be fully aware of how they can control (enable or disable) remote support activity.

Programs that facilitate Remote Support

Typing “logmein vs ” as an internet search item, on my computer, will produce a list options for comparable programs. Why “logmein”? Because it is one of the programs I used years ago, for accessing my “at work desktop” when I was working at home. Another internet search that leads to other comparisons is “vnc vs ”. VNC is a free remote access tool that comes in several flavors.

The tools I used during my working years have improved and morphed into different products. Over the years the need for “remote support or remote access to a desktop” has not gone away.

Zoom.com offers software that represents another branch in the evolution of remote support software.
